The next director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be revealed before this month ends.
No less than outgoing NCRPO Director Oscar Albayalde confirmed that his successor will be known before the end of April, but he refused to drop the names of his personal choices.
“End of the month. It will be known after a series of retirements at Camp Crame,” Albayalde said, who is set to replace outgoing and retiring Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa in a change-of-command ceremony set on April 19.
Asked whether he has his own personal pick, Albayalde said, “Your guess is only as good as mine.”
“We saw the individual performances of the different district directors (DDs) in Metro Manila. I’m sure the public also know those who are working and deserving to the post,” he noted.
However, he admitted that he has also been receiving recommendations both for ranking officers at the national headquarters and for provincial directors.
