Lucas Matthysse may have flown in one of the world’s longest flights when he traveled from Argentina to the Philippines.
Matthysse, who arrived in the country to promote his July 15 defense of the World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight title against Manny Pacquiao at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, flew from the capital of Buenos Aires to Manila with his manager Mario Arano for a total of 30 hours.
“The flight alone from Argentina is long,” said Arano, noting that their journey actually began in the city of Junin, some 200 kilometers from Buenos Aires.
What made the journey so exhausting was that when Team Matthysse arrived in Los Angeles in the morning, it had to meet up with Gomez later in the evening to catch the Philippine Airlines flight to Manila.
But Matthysse said the service provided by the country’s flag-carrier was fabulous that when he landed in Manila, he was ready to do the press conference with Pacquiao.
However, Matthysse’ woes are far from over.
Thursday night, Matthysse will fly to Kuala Lumpur for the second and last leg of the press tour set Friday.
