Police are hunting down a man who hacked to death six family members, including his live-in partner, and injured another one yesterday in Nueva Ecija.
Senior Inspector Jacqueline Gahid, Nueva Ecija police public information officer, identified the suspect as Jessie Tesoro.
The fatalities were identified as Jennifer Caballero, the suspect’s live-in partner, Abby Caballero, Leonila Caballero, Joshua Caballero, Sergio Caballero, and Sonny Custodio, all are residents in Barangay Tambo Adorable, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija.
The lone survivor was identified as Annalyn Caballero, who was sent to Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Hospital for immediate treatment.
According to Gahid, Tesoro hacked the victims while they were in deep slumber inside their rented house around 4:30 a.m. The incident was reported by the neighbors when they discovered the already lifeless bodies of the victims.
Police have yet to establish the motive behind the incident although a manhunt was immediately conducted against the escaped suspect.
Gahid said the victims have only been in the area for about two weeks, adding that they are just renting a unit.
Police have also yet to determine the weapon used by the suspect.
