FOR Raven Lansangan, it’s always an honor to represent the Philippines in a contest abroad.
That’s why the Kapampangan hunk chose to compete at the 12th Mister International pageant in Myanmar than to receive his college diploma at the Holy Angel University on April 25.
“It was a difficult decision. To represent the Philippines abroad is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. So I decided to delay my graduation and attend the ceremony in October later this year,” said Lansangan, during the press send-off for him held in Quezon City Thursday night. He is expected to leave for the pageant on Saturday, April 21.
Lansangan will graduate with the Bachelor of Science and Business Administration Major in Business Management.
Despite his busy schedule as one of the reigning winners of Misters of Filipinas, Lansangan was able to finish his studies. He said that he made it sure that his studies will not suffer despite being with Misters.
At the press conference organized by the Prime Event Productions Philippines, Inc. Foundation (PEPPS), Lansangan said that he is ready and excited for one of his greatest battles in life.
“No pressure, just excitement. After the hard work and long wait, I’m ready for the greatest battle of my life,” he said. “I will do my best to make you all proud.”
His father Randy, an overseas Filipino worker in South Korea; and his mother Rowena, were also proud of his achievements.
Lansangan will also wear a Lakandula-inspired national costume in the male pageant. It was inspired from Datu of Arayat, Pampanga named Don Juan Macapagal, grandson of Lakandula.
Carlo Morris Galang, President of PEPPS; and lawyer Richard Montoya, PEPPS Director for Legal, are hopeful that Lansangan will win the second Mister International crown for the Philippines.
Policeman-turned-actor Neil Perez is the first Filipino to win the Mister International contest held in South Korea in 2014.
The finals of the Mister International pageant will be held at the National Theater of Yangoon in Myanmar on April 30.
