KIDAPAWAN CITY – At least 45 public utility vehicles (PUVs) drivers plying the Cotabato-Davao highway will have to find other ways to earn a living in the coming days with their vehicles having been impounded by local authorities Wednesday.
According to Ginalinda Genotice, district head of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Kidapawan City, the vehicles were seized as they were without franchises and are considered “colorum.”
The vehicles are now under the custody of the Philippine Army at Barangay Lower Paatan in Kabacan, North Cotabato.
Genotice said drivers and operators of the impounded colorum vans will have to pay P200,000 to claim their vehicles.
Tricycle drivers and operators, on the other hand, could claim their tricycles for a fee of P6,000.
