Retired Armed Forces Chief of Staff Gen. Rey Leonard Guerrero and retired Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald M. dela Rosa are set to assume two key positions in the Duterte administration.
President Duterte has formally appointed Guerrero as Maritime Industry Authority administrator and Dela Rosa as Bureau of Corrections director general, filling the posts that were vacant for months.
Guerrero’s appointment paper was signed last April 26 and will serve as Marina head until July 11, 2022. He replaces Marcial Amaro III who was sacked by the President last January for excessive foreign travels.
Dela Rosa replaces Director General Benjamin delos Santos who resigned last year amid reports of the resurgence of the illegal drugs trade at the New Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa City. His appointment paper was signed by the President last April 30.
