CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga – A Korean national was arrested the other day by Clark International Airport security personnel after he was found in possession of illegal drugs.
Alexander Cauguiran, president and chief executive officer of the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) identified the suspect as Kim Junho, 37.
Caugiran said Junho was arrested by CIAC security officer Rogelio Aggari and Office of Transportation Security (OTS) staff Rommel Bernabe after seeing something suspicious in his luggage as it passed initial security screening checkpoint.
Aggari and Bernabe later found out the Korean national was carrying a sachet of dried marijuana and another sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be cocaine.
“Korean passengers abound at Clark all year round and while we have set in place measures to ensure their comfort and safety, let this be a warning to all that (our security staff) will be uncompromising in handling cases involving prohibited substances or contraband,” Cauguiran said.
Junho was brought to the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Unit for questioning before being turned over to the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region III for further investigation.
