JUST A THOUGHT: Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them go away. That is why it is so important to destroy souvenirs, move, give lots of things away, donate the books you have at home. Getting rid of certain memories means making some room for other memories to take their place. – Paulo Coehlo.

STRESSED AND DEPRESSED: Stress and depressed are two of the most common words in people’s vocabulary these days.
Under the spell of one or the other or both, people take to the Internet to vent their pent-up emotions. It wasn’t that way in the old days.
Back then, people had only to call their friends, or go their homes, to talk about what was bothering them over lumpia or bibingca. Confession, also called sharing, was done in the privacy of close kinship.
In the age of social media, confidentiality has become a thing of the past. Kris Aquino goes on a rampage against ex-husband James Yap in an entirely new chapter of their ruined love life.
She is also making a big screen comeback. Is there a connection? She has also incriminated Korina Sanchez for interviewing James on her TV show. Bakit pati siya?
Is Kris under stress, or is she depressed? Netizens have been quick to judge her as ‘bitter.’ Some say she couldn’t accept the fact that James is enjoying a happy family life with a new partner.
That’s probably the most stressful part of being a public figure in this day and age. The public can talk back and cut you to pieces. They call that interactive, a new feature in social media.
One has to be made of steel to be able to put up with netizens’ comments, which are often vulgar and nasty. It was never this way in the time of Susan Roces and Amalia Fuentes. Back then, fans and the general public had only to write their idols using snail mail. They were also more polite.

SURPRISING SHARON: How about our other icon, Sharon Cuneta? Is she also experiencing depression? The past many months have seen her posting the insides of her private life for all the world to see.
Is Sharon just being smart in using social media to promote herself? Or is she under stress or is just depressed?
These days, with all the noise and bravura we are bombarded with daily through the Internet, it’s quite hard to tell what people’s true intentions are.
It’s just like how the Internet has changed people’s concept of friendship, of making friends, or being friends. Or liking or loving something or someone.
All it take is a simple, stress-free click. Yet, the effect they impact on your life is immeasurable in ways that are both good and bad.
