The 2018 World Slasher Cup Invitational 9-Cock Derby 2 kicks off today with more than 100 fights at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Supported by Excellence Poultry and Livestock Specialists and Pit Game Media Inc., the six-day super event hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions is expected to draw another record crowd.
Last year’s WSC 2 co-champions Frank Berin, Dante Eslabon and Escolin Brothers remain as the entries to beat although cockfight idol Patrick Antonio, the 2018 WSC 1 solo champ, together with runners-up Biboy Enriquez, Manny Berbano, Cris Sioson and Rey Canedo are likely spoil their bids.
Other prominent campaigners are Dicky Lim, Eddie Araneta, James Uy, Jimmy Junsay, Wilvin Sy, Rey Briones, Jet and Joel Fernando, Boy Marzo, Paolo Malvar, Joey Sy and Madlambayan Brothers among others.
The foreigners include Rey Alexander of Alabama, Greg Berin of Australia, Rene Medina of California, Dr. Belle Almojera of Florida, Butch Cambra of Hawaii, Carlos Camacho of Guam and Charly Aucena of USA.
The complete derby schedule: May 6 and 7 (2-cock elims); May 8 and 9 (3-cock semi-finals); May 11 (4-cock finals for participants with 2 to 3.5 points) and May 12 (4-cock finals for participants with 4 to 5 points).
