A construction worker was stabbed dead by his co-worker after the two had an heated exchange during a drinking spree at Bandong Street, Binondo, Manila on Monday.
The victim, identified as Larry Boy Zamora, 27, a resident of Merry II Subdivision, Camarin, Caloocan City, was declared dead on arrival at the Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital due to the lone stab wound on his chest.
The suspect remains at large and was identified by police as Rodolfo Quizana, 44, a construction worker and stay-in at Bandong Tower, located at 366 Bandong Street, Binondo,, Manila.
Investigation showed that prior to the incident, Quizana together with Zamora and his cousin Maiko Zamora were having a drinking session at the 4th floor of Bandong Tower at around 3:15 p.m.
For unclear reasons, the suspect got irritated at the victim that made him say “Subukan mo ako!” according to the report.
The suspect then stood up and grabbed a kitchen knife and challenged the victim before he stabbed him in the chest. Unsatisfied, the suspect then tried to attack Maiko who managed to escape.
Quizana then fled the premises after the incident. Maiko and other construction workers in the area immediately rushed the victim to the hospital where he later died.
Authorities recovered the kitchen knife that was used in the incident. They are now conducting follow-up investigations.
