Kim Tamayo and Kenji Duremdes starred anew as National University clinched the No. 2 seed in the 15-under division of the 5th HDBL Freego Kids Cup held over the weekend at the SGS Stadium in Quezon City.
Tamayo exploded for 21 points while Duremdes added 13 points to help power the Bullpups to a 99-61 win over the Chiang Kai Shek College Blue Dragons in the event backed by AXA Philippines with Boy de Vera and Willy Chan serving as commissioner and tournament director, respectively.
Duremdes also hauled down eight rebounds as the Bullpups arranged a semis showdown with No. 3 Letran.
La Salle Greenhills, which topped the division with a 6-0 record, battles No. 4 CKSC in the other semis pairing.
In the 12-under division, top seed LSG takes on No. 4 St. Stephen’s High School while No. 2 Warriors goes up against No. 4 Pulong Selection.
Pulong Selection took the last ticket following 125-68 drubbing of Headstart – thanks to a 28-point show of Joaqui Sison.
