(People’s Gym, Tuguegarao)
2 p.m. – PayMaya vs Pocari-Air Force (Women’s)
4 p.m. – PetroGazz vs Tacloban (Women’s)
PayMaya goes for a second straight win and the early lead even as PetroGazz aims to barge into the win-column as the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference goes to the People’s Gym in Tuguegarao City today.
The High Flyers collide with the Pocari-Air Force Lady Warriors at 2 p.m. while the Angels tangle with the Tacloban Fighting Warays at 4 p.m.
This will be the first of the two playdates that the city is hosting as Pocari-Air Force and BanKo-Perlas tangle tomorrow at 2 p.m. followed by Creamline and PayMaya at 4 p.m. at the same venue.
Despite its tight schedule, PayMaya hopes to keep its energy going in its bid to follow up its 25-8, 33-31, 25-20 win over Tacloban in the opener last week.
Guest players Tess Rountree and Shelby Sullivan are once again expected to anchor the High Flyers after conspiring for 37 points the last time, while Grethcel Soltones is also set to sparkle at the offensive end.
Determined to make that happen is versatile setter Jasmine Nabor, who provided smart plays and finished with 24 excellent sets against Tacloban.
PayMaya coach Roger Gorayeb, however, is not taking Pocari-Air Force lightly since the team – backstopped by former Most Valuable Player Myla Pablo, Jeanette Panaga and Ces Racraquin – wants nothing but an impressive start.
Pocari coach Jasper Jimenez can also count on foreign reinforcements Madeline Palmer and Arielle Love to fuel their campaign.
In the other pairing, PetroGazz tries to regain its composure following back-to-back losses to Creamline (25-18, 25-16, 25-13) and Tacloban (25-17, 27-25, 21-25, 14-25, 15-13) that put them at the bottom standings.
