2:30 p.m. – LSGH vs NU
Kyle Andrei Rivera led another well-balanced attack as La Salle clobbered Chiang Kai Shek College, 104-61, to arrange a title clash with National University in the 15-year-old division of the 5th HDBL Freego Kids Cup held Thursday at the SGS Stadium in Quezon City.
Aside from his timely baskets, Rivera led the team’s oppressive defense in the third frame that saw the top-seeded Greenies outscore the Blue Dragons, 35-8, for a commanding 84-37 advantage going into the final 10 minutes.
Rivera finished with 19 points while James Ison and Kenshin Padrones chipped in 15 and 14 points, respectively. Six other La Salle players scored 7 points or more to underscore its might in the tournament also backed by AXA Philippines.
The second-seeded Bullpups, on the other hand, leaned on a big third quarter onslaught to beat Letran, 74-57.
Echo Laure, son of former PBA player Eddie Lure, led NU with 12 points while Elijah Yusi and Kenjie Duremdes combined for 17 points.
LSGH and NU dispute the title of the event organized by Edster Sy at 2:30 p.m. today.
Meantime, La Salle Greenhills and Pulong Selection set up a title date in the 12-U by crushing their respective rivals in the event with Boy de Vera and Willy Chan serving as commissioner and tournament director, respectively.
