Five empowered married women were crowned at the inaugural Mrs. Worldwide Philippines 2018 beauty pageant held in Makati City recently.
The winners were Ma, Ervick Bermudez, Mrs. Worldwide Philippines 2018; Jea-Ann Santiago, Mrs. Philippines Global Universe 2018; Mary Kimberly Cagape, Mrs. Philippines Asia Pacific Intercontinental 2018; Abigail Rabie, Mrs. Philippines Asia Pacific Cosmopolitan 2018; and Adrienne Martinez, Mrs. Philippines Asia Pacific Global 2018.
The 17 contestants competed in various competitions such as resorts wear, evening gown and question-and-answer.
Winners of special awards were Myra Joy Navora, Mrs Friendship; Princess Quilaton, Mrs Social Media; Kimberly Cagape, Best in Talent and Mrs. Photogenic; Ideal Women Award by Psalmstre – Adrienne Martinez, Cristina Mesina, and Jea-Ann Santiago; and Maureen Dizon, Best in Resort’s Wear. The Psalmstre awards were presented by Jaime V. Acosta, president of CEO of Psalmstre Enterprises, Inc.
Mrs. Worldwide Philippines aims to mold empowered married women to see themselves not only as a responsible housewife but more than that, they can be influences go their fellow married women by moving out of the box and going out beyond their capacities and capabilities,” said Frederick B. Padrilan, national director of the pageant.
Proceeds of the beauty contest were given to the Aruga-Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (Home for the Aged), a charity being supported by the Mrs. Worldwide Philippines contest.
The foundation was established for the care of the sick and the aged natives of Calapan, Mindoro. The same foundation was proposed and stared by Fr. Cris G. Raymundo, who is the assigned Director of the Diocesan Commission on Health Care of the Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan.
Padrilan said that the Mrs. Worldwide Philippines was created through the success of Miss Lumiere International World 2017.
In October, Sammie Anne Legaspi represented the Philippines at Miss Lumiere International World 2017. She finished first runner-up in the international pageant held in Malaysia. It was then that Lumiere International Pte entrusted the pageant brand organization to Padrilan.
