Past and incumbent senators yesterday flocked to the Senate to pay their last respects to the late Senate President Edgardo Angara who died from a heart attack last Sunday.
Former President now Manila Mayor Joseph E. Estrada and former President now Pampanga Rep. Gloria M. Arroyo delivered eulogies for their former colleague in the Senate whom they had the privilege of working with during the 8th, 9th, and 10th Congress.
“Salamat sa iyong paglilingkod at pagmamahal sa bayan. You will be missed not only by me but also those who were touched by your generosity and commitment to serve,” Estrada said in his eulogy.
Arroyo commended Angara in her eulogy for crafting laws benefitting students, farmers, and the poor. “He wore many hats, and he wore it well,” she said.
