NERVOUS BUT – Riva Quenery is nervous about her “Rivlog Live!” birthday concert on May 27 at the SM Skydome in Quezon City. She explains that she’s more used to performing as guest artist, but this time she takes centerstage. “It’s all about me.” But then she vows to give it all.
Riva explains that watching “Rivlog Live!” is like watching her vlogs live, in person, in the flesh.
In “Rivlog Live!” she’s most excited about exploring other genres, “Those I’ve never done before,” in response to her followers who’ve been asking for “something different.”
•
FOLLOWERS – Speaking of followers, Riva has more than 100,000 subscribers in her vlogs and almost 400,000 followers in her YouTube.
She’s YouTube’s Silver Play Button awardee.
Riva is one of the original GirlTrends of ABS-CBN’s “Showtime” and a member of the local hiphop dance group Power Impact. The group won third place in the recent World of Dance Manila and will compete in the World Dance to be mounted in Los Angeles, California.
Being a popular vlogger, Riva has little privacy to speak of, her activities being sort of public property. But then the money is good.
•
GOOD CAUSE – The beneficiary of “Rivlog Live!” is the children of Tahanang Mapagkalinga of Mother Rita. Which is typical of Riva, always ready to lend her artistry for a good cause.
In Riva’s words: “Every birthday ko, I make sure na tumutulong ako sa street children. Parang naging advocacy ko na.
What a better way to celebrate it than to make my supporters happy and then ‘yung mga less fortunate.”
Close friends are guesting in “Rivlog Live!.” Among them : Krissha Viaje and Sammie Rimando. Also Hashtags member Zeus Collins, Awra Briguela, and Maris Racal.
“Rivlog Live!” is produced by Hermie Carreon, with Marvin Caldito as director. For tickets to the one-night only concert, call up SM tickets at 470-2222 or visit www.smtickets.com.
