Police apprehended an alleged big time drug supplier operating in southern Metro Manila after he yielded P2 million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and several firearms in an operation yesterday in Lipa, Batangas.
Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, regional director of Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) Police Regional Office (PRO-4A), identified the arrested suspect as Marcial Orbigoso alias Tan Tan, legal age, of Purok 6, Barangay Pangao, Lipa, Batangas.
Elements of Regional Special Operations Unit (PRO-4A) and Lipa City Police Station arrested Orbigoso around 5 a.m. in his house by virtue of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act.
It was later found out that Orbigoso was tagged as among the top three drug suppliers operating in southern Metro Manila, particularly in Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City.
“[He] admitted that after his release in 2015, he was utilized as an asset by some rogue police officers in their nefarious activities,” said Eleazar.
Eleazar said the policemen searched the entire house where they recovered 300 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P2 million.
Eleazar said a coordination has been made by the operatives with the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (PRO-4A) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-4A) to determine whether the arrested suspect has any cohorts, and arrest them if there are.
