7 p.m. – All-Star Mindanao Team vs All-Star National Team
PBA fans troop to Digos City in Davao del Sur today when the 2018 All-Star festivities get going at the Davao del Sur Coliseum.
Basketball aficionados in the region will be on hand to witness the All-Star Mindanao squad coached by Tim Cone of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel squares off with the Norman Black-mentored Smart-All Star National team at 7 p.m., which serves as the first stop of the three-city tour across the country.
Black coaches the Meralco Bolts.
Barangay Ginebra’ Scottie Thompson banners the Mindanao squad made up of Mark Barroca, Jio Jalalon, Peter June Simon, Mac Belo, Baser Amer, Cyrus Baguio, Sonny Thoss, Rafi Reavis, JP Erram, RR Garcia and Carlo Lastimosa.
They will be up against the Gilas Pilipinas squad comprised of June Mar Fajardo and Japeth Aguilar, Jayson Castro, Troy Rosario, Calvin Abueva, Carl Bryan Cruz, Gabe Norwood, Allein Maliksi, Matthew Wright, Roger Pogoy, Kiefer Ravena and Terrence Romeo.
Led by Commissioner Willie Marcial, delegates and officials arrived here the other day for season classic with Phoenix Fuel with Phoenix Pulse Technology as major sponsor.
Highlighting the kick off leg is the Legends Shootout between Allan Caidic and Kenneth Duremdes. Also entered are boxing icon Sen. Manny Pacquiao and Special Assistant to the President Bong Go.
After the Mindanao match, the celebration shifts to the Batangas City Coliseum on Friday pitting the All-Star Luzon squad against the All-Star National Team, as well as the Obstacle Challenge, 3-point Shootout and Slam Dunk competitions.
Fans in the Visayas will also be treated with a match featuring the All-Star Visayas and the All-Star National Team at the University of San Agustin gym in Iloilo City.
