Be wary of traffic this weekend, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) warned Metro Manila motorists Friday, announcing seven road sections in major thoroughfares in Manila and Quezon City will undergo road repair around that time.
According to Melvin Navarro, DPWH-National Capital Region Regional Director, the road repair and re-blocking will last until Monday morning.
The affected road sections include three sections of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA): the southbound direction from Samson College to P. Tuazon Street, second lane; from Eugenio Lopez Street to Scout Borromeo, third lane; and the northbound direction fronting Vertis North to Trinoma Mall, second lane.
Road works are also set along the northbound direction of EspaƱa Boulevard going to Quiapo, in front of Ramon Magsaysay High School; Quirino Highway near Mater Carmeli School, inner lane; A. Bonifacio Avenue, Mauban Street, inner lane; and Congressional Avenue, from fronting Business Bank to Mindanao Avenue, third lane.
Navarro said the DPWH will use a one-day concrete mix so that the affected areas will be fully passable by 5 a.m. on Monday.
Motorists are advised to avoid the affected areas or take alternate routes.
