LIFE IS AN OPEN BOOK: Candidly stating that 80 per cent of her life is public and online, rising singer-dancer Riva Quenery is amused that her father, a military man, has allowed himself to be captured in many of her videos.
“I hope that by opening my life to the public, I’m able to inspire young people my age,’’ the 20-year old told us in an interview.
The former GirlTrends member is throwing a one-night-only birthday concert, “RiVlog Live!” at the SM Skydome, on May 27.

THOUSANDS OF FOLLOWERS: Riva is a leading figure in the local vlogging scene with her naturally quirky and intimately personal vlog called RiVlog. Her vlog, which she proudly runs solo, received YouTube’s popular Silver Play Button award, awarded to vlogs that have amassed 100,000 subscribers.
Roughly a year later, Riva’s subscribers have more than doubled. She now has more than 340,000 followers on the said video-sharing platform.
RiVlog captures Ria in her day to day life, starting from the time she wakes up, pulls out of bed. She doesn’t mind that she’s losing an amount of privacy in this manner.
She has also recently monetized her vlog, earning her quite a fortune.

PASSION FOR DANCING: Dancing has always been Riva’s passion. Her vlog carries countless dance covers, a bit of singing, making fun of herself. It was through her vlog that she was tapped to be part of “It’s Showtime’s” GirlTrends.
Riva has been pulled out of GirlTrends per management decision. It’s something that she feels both sad and happy about. “There are other things lined up for me,’’ she says.
Such as joining the local hip-hop dance group, Power Impact. The dance crew recently placed third under the Team Division at the World of Dance Manila 2018. Riva is also set to compete with the team in the World Dance Competition in Los Angeles California.
Riva’s birthday concert shall benefit kids at the Tahanang Mapagkalinga ni Madre Rita. ‘Each birthday, I throw a party for streetchildren,’’ she says.
Guests include her close friends Krissha Viaje, Sammie Rimando, Hashtags member Zeus Collins, Awra Briguela, and Maris Racal.
