The Philippine National Police is conducting an investigation to identify the personalities who coddled and helped Ozamiz City Councilor Ricardo “Ardot” Parojinog sneak out of the country and seek refuge in Taiwan.
PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said among those being investigated are at least one name disclosed by Ozamiz police chief Supt. Jovie Espenido.
Espenido was instrumental in busting the Parojinog clan that was linked to big-time illegal drugs transactions in Ozamiz and other parts of the country.
He led the raids on residential areas of the Parojinogs in July last year that resulted into the deaths of 15 persons, including Ozamiz Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. and the arrest of his children, Vice Mayor Princess Nova and Reynaldo Jr.
“There are personalities involved, we are now conducting case build-up in order to file charges against his coddlers,” said Albayalde.
Albayalde said reports they received bared that Ardot left the country through the backdoor and used fake documents.
He reportedly was aided by alleged drug lords who arranged a hiding place in a fishing village in Taiwan.
Ardot was arrested last week for violating Taiwan immigration laws. The Taiwanese government is set to file charges against him.
“It will take time before he is deported. Probably one to two months,” said Albayalde.
