The gimmick was nothing new but it still worked wonders for Filipino all-male dance group Junior New System who wowed “America’s Got Talent” Season 13 judges Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell as they performed in high heels making it through the audition round of the show that aired May 29.
Mel B waxed ecstatic on the routine, saying, “The heels, the flipping, the choreography . . . I love you!”
Note the group already used the high-heels routine on “Asia’s Got Talent” in 2015, where it also received thunderous applause earning them a trip to the semi-finals.
Prior to their performance, Junior New System members tearfully recalled their journey as street children trying to survive the streets of Sampaloc in Manila.
Currently based in the US where they are now working individually as dance instructors, the members maintained performing on “America’s Got Talent” is among their biggest dreams.
Mandel, obviously moved by their back story as with their performance, said they are the “epitome of making dreams come true.”
