Bryan Colangelo’s stint as an official of the Philadelphia 76ers may be short lived as his career hangs in the balance after a social media blunder.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe reported that Colangelo’s role as Sixers president of basketball operations is in jeopardy due to his alleged involvement with a number of burner Twitter accounts.
The Ringer’s Ben Detrick first reported that Colangelo may be behind five burner accounts that leaked sensitive information and criticised players like Jahlil Okafor, Joel Embiid, Nerlens Noel, and Markelle Fultz. The accounts also took pot shots at former Sixers GM Sam Hinkie and Toronto Raptors GM Masai Ujiri.
Meanwhile, the accounts often defended the actions and maintained a positive stance towards Colangelo.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, however, told Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post prior to Game 1 of the NBA Finals, that he was going to wait for all of the facts to come out.
