Woman International Master (WIM) Marie Antoinette San Diego lost her grip of the solo lead after halving the point while International Masters John Marvin Miciano and Paulo Bersamina produced contrasting results in the sixth round of the Asian Universities Chess Championships at the Tagaytay City Convention Center.
San Diego drew with fellow local bet WIM Bernadette Galas for 4.5 points – half a point behind Woman Grandmaster Wang Jue of China. Tied with San Diego are with Chinese players Nie Xin, Liu Manli and WIM Qiu Mengjie.
Galas, for her part, hiked her tally to 4 points for a share of sixth to eighth places with Alphecca Gonzales and Woman Fide Master Sahajasri Cholleti of India.
