Defending champion Ceres-Negros was held to a draw by JPV-Marikina while Kaya-Iloilo remained unbeaten in its new home to highlight another week of action in the Philippines Football League.
Patrick Reichelt’s goal in the 52nd minute allowed Ceres to salvage a 1-all draw against JPV at the Binan Football Stadium in Laguna. The Busmen, however, lost midfielder Manny Ott after being elbowed late in the contest.
Over at the Iloilo Sports Complex, Jovin Bedic struck a go-ahead score in the 75th to help Kaya beat the Davao Aguilas, 2-1. It was Kaya’s second straight win since its move to the Western Visayas city from Makati.
Ceres remained on top of the table with 25 points after 10 matches, three clear of Kaya which was also handed a forfeiture win over Global-Cebu after the latter failed to appear for their match last May 18.
Davao is in third with 14 points, JPV is at fourth (10), folllowed by Stallion-Laguna (9) and Global (1).
