Two alleged notorious drug peddlers were killed when they shot it out with policemen during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City, Tuesday.
Members of the Drug Enforcement Unit of Quezon City Police District-Batasan Police Station (PS-6) seized some R100,000 worth of illegal drugs from the slain suspects identified as Robert Rivera, known as “Bulak,” clad in black sweat shirt, maong shorts, black shoes, and black cap; and Randy Matias, alias “Buboy,” wearing a black sweat shirt, maong pants, black shoes, and a red cap.
According to police, the two suspects were known drug peddlers and heavily armed personalities in their area.
Operatives of PS-6 SDEU conducted a drug sting against the duo at about 2:15 a.m. An undercover police purchased from them R500 worth of illegal drugs.
However, upon sensing that they were transacting with a poseur buyer, the suspects pulled out their handguns and fired at the policemen.
Back-up officers retaliated, resulting in a brief shootout. The suspects died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Authorities seized from the suspects 10 sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, and two loaded .38-caliber revolvers.
