Around 5,400 newly elected Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials took their oath of office at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila, yesterday morning.
Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, who administered the oath-taking, urged the new youth leaders to serve the public well and set good examples as leaders of their respective communities.
“Your duty now lies in meeting their expectations, and you were the ones that the people elected you. Kailangan maging tapat kayo sa inyong tungkulin, tapat sa hangarin at tapat sa trabaho,” Estrada said.
Estrada also reminded the youth leaders of their responsibilities in the field of public service and good governance.
“Now that you have completed your orientation, maari na kayong mag-umpisang magplano ng inyong mga programa para sa inyong mga barangay, ” Estrada said.
The former president also assured that his office is always willing to extend help to its young leaders.
