A suspected drug peddler was shot dead while his cohort was arrested by anti-narcotic operatives Friday during a buy-bust operation inside a drug den in Quiapo, Manila.
The suspect, identified as Joel Cruz, 46, Rizal Avenue, Sta. Cruz, Manila, was proclaimed dead on arrival after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of his body, case investigator SPO1 Dennis Gumapac said.
Prior to the incident, elements of the Sta. Cruz Police Station, Blumentritt Police Community Precinct (PCP), Plaza Miranda PCP, Barbosa PCP and Alvarez PCP conducted a buy-bust operation on Friday at 4 p.m. inside Blanco’s Bldg. located at No. 222 Villalobos St., Barangay 306, Quiapo, Manila.
Meanwhile, the suspect’s cohort Margie Ocasla, 24, of No. 1003 Arlegui St., Quiapo, Manila was arrested when PO1 Bombase saw her receive three pieces of suspected shabu from the slain suspect. (Hans Amancio)
