CATS have a certain kind of charisma that makes people love them. With every meow and purr, these furry little household sweethearts have caught the hearts of many.
There is something irresistible with the way they caress themselves around you. Somehow you just can’t hate them for knocking down their bowl of milk every time they act clumsy.
Cat representations in cartoons like Garfield, Hello Kitty, and Tom from Tom and Jerry further romanticize the image of cats as lovely creatures.
Cat phobia, however, develops among some after they have been attacked or scratched by a cat.
Still, that’s no reason for you to abhor cats altogether. Consider these benefits of owning a cat.
•
Cats relieve stress.
Cat owners tend to be less stressed due to the calming effect of cats. They find taking care of cats therapeutic. At the end of each day may it be good or bad, just a snuggle with our cats takes away the negativities.
•
Cats help in battling mental health.
While cats take our stress away, they also help out in providing emotional support to their owners. Study shows that having cats as pet increases dopamine and serotonin levels which regulate mood disorders like depression.
•
Cats make you feel loved and appreciated.
It is in their innate personality and behavior to make you feel loved. They provide companionship and help you feel less alone. So if you’re spending Valentine’s Day alone, your cat may be a good stay-at-home-date while you Netflix and chill.
