The commander of Police Community Precinct 1 in Pasay City was relieved yesterday after National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar did not find him inside the station during a surprise inspection.
The NCRPO Chief arrived at the CCP Complex PCP at around 2 a.m. and did not see Chief Inspector Allan Estrada around the outpost.
Eleazar was inspecting police stations in Manila to check the situation of the police officers amid the continued heavy rains overnight.
Eleazar kept on knocking at Estrada’s room which was double locked. He called the deputy PCP commander SPO4 Moises Sto. Tomas who cannot confirm if his commander was inside the said room. He also tried to contact him but his phone was turned off.
They later found out that there is a backdoor leading to the room and upon entering, Eleazar found two guns, bullets, and the wallet of Estrada which was left near his bed.
Eleazar summoned Pasay City Police chief Senior Supt. Noel Flores to notify him of the incident. Flores arrived a few minutes later and tried to contact Estrada but to no avail.
Eleazar instructed the Pasay City Police chief to relieve Estrada from his post and told him to tell the relieved commander to report to his office on Monday.
He added that it was fine if Estrada was sleeping as long as there are officers who are assigned to work.
For the meantime, Senior Inspector Oscar Santos was designated as officer-in-charge of the precinct.
