A police officer was arrested after he allegedly threatened his neighbor with his firearm over a parking dispute in Quezon City, Tuesday afternoon.
Chief Inspector Bernardo Pascua Jr., officer-in-charge station commander of Quezon City Police District-Masambong Police Station (PS-2), identified the arrested cop as PO3 Nico Agbalog, 31, assigned to PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, a resident of Barangay Ramon Magsaysay, Bago Bantay, Quezon City. Police said Agbalog and the complainant, Jayson Cruz, 39, are both renting units at a residential building on Ilocos Norte Street in Barangay Ramon Magsaysay.
According to the complainant, he and his wife arrived at their home on board their vehicle around 3 p.m., but they were not able to enter the premises as the vehicle of the suspect parked in front of the gate slightly blocked the driveway.
Cruz went to the unit of the police officer and requested to move away his vehicle from the entrance gate for them to enter.
However, Cruz said, the suspect’s wife suddenly got irked and scolded him, prompting him to seek assistance from a barangay officer.
Upon arrival at Agbalog’s unit to reiterate his request, the police officer allegedly took his gun and tucked it on his back while saying, “Ano ba talaga ang gusto mong mangyari?” Out of fear for his life, Cruz left and called the emergency hotline and reported the incident to authorities. PS-2 officers went to the unit of Agbalog and invited him for questioning.
