The Philippine National Police (PNP) Responders try to extend their impressive winning streak to six games while the Senate Sentinels are out to get back on the winning track when they clash tomorrow in the 2nd UNTV Cup Executive Face-Off at the Pasig City Sports Center.
Already assured of a semis berth, the Responders are looking to secure one of two bonuses in the playoffs when they collide with the Sentinels at 5 p.m.
Though coming off a runaway 90-59 win over the DOJ Boosters, the Responders can’t take the Sentinels lightly since the latter are determined to boost their own semis bid.
Expected to lead the Responders are Joel de Mesa, Philips Gil Philipps and Anthony Padua.
The Sentinels are currently tied for the second to fourth places with the Nikkie Laure-led Ombudsman Graftbusters and the Judiciary Magis with similar 3-1 records.
The top two finishers after the single-round elims will earn a twice-to-beat advantage when they play the No. 4 and No. 3 teams in the playoffs of the event presented by UNTV through its president and CEO Daniel Razon.
Fresh from beating the Sentinels, 66-51, the Graftbusters tackle the GSIS Furies at 2 p.m. while defending champion Armed Forces of the Philippines takes on the DOJ Boosters at 3:30 p.m.
With a 0-3 mark, the AFP Cavaliers should beat the Boosters to stay in playoff hunt.
