A Catholic Church leader expressed his support for the proposed Mandatory Drug Testing among Grade Four students or to children 10-years-old and above.
“The drug problem in the country has gone worst that it now involves children. We have heard of candies laced with drugs.
I think this proposal by the PDEA can help prevent children from getting involved with drugs,” San Jose Nueva Ecija Bishop Roberto Mallari said over Church-run Radio Veritas.
The prelate expressed belief that children as young as ten can get involved with drugs out of curiosity. PDEA director general Aaron Aquino, earlier, reported the case of a 10-year-old drug user, that prompted him to recommend to the Dangerous Drugs Board to order a Mandatory Drug Testing among students starting from Grade 4 and above.
