Pauline del Rosario failed to sustain an impressive second round stint and hobbled with a 74 to slip to a share of seventh in the third round of the Ladies European Tour’s Thailand Championship at the Phoenix Golf and Country Club’s Mountain Ocean course in Pattaya late Saturday.
Local ace Kanyalak Preedasuttijit fired a 66 and seized control at 12-under 204 going into the final round.
Del Rosario, who shot a 67 Friday, fell off the leader board with three straight bogeys from No. 4 and a closing bogey on the par-5 18th to negate birdies on Nos. 13 and 15.
Swede Lynn Carlsson, who used a 65 to tie Del Rosario halfway through the 72-hole championship, also made a 37 at the front although she fought back with a 35 to save a 72. She slipped to joint third with Korean amateur Selin Hyun (69) and Thai Chonlada Chayanun (68) at 209 with Anne Van Dam of the Netherlands moving to solo second with a 70 and a 208, four strokes behind Preedasuttijit.
The Thai ace sizzled late with four birdies and an eagle on No. 15 for that 30 and a 66.
Over in Symetra Tour, Dottie Ardina shot a two-under 70 but could only move to joint 21st in the second round of the Island Resort Championship paced by Taiwanese Ssu-Chia Cheng in Michigan Saturday.
