The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved the R1 provisional fare increase for public utility jeepneys plying Metro Manila, Regions 3 and 4. The minimum jeepney fare now is R9.
Pangkalahatang Sangguniang Manila and Suburb Drivers Assoc. Nationwide Inc.. (PASANGMASDA) leader Obet Martin said they appreciate the decision of the Board on the approval of the provisional fare increase.
While they welcomed the government’s move, Martin said they will still proceed with their formal petition for the additional R2.
Martin is one of the five transport group leaders who filed a petition to the LTFRB to increase the minimum fare from R8 to R10 in September 2017. (Alexandria San Juan)
