Jose Rizal University and Mapua seek a winning start to their campaigns as they clash today in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament at the JRU gym in Mandaluyong City.
Their 4 p.m. showdown is expected to be as exciting as the opening games as both teams intend to win their opening games of the season.
The winner will join opening day winners San Beda University and Lyceum – two teams that figured in last year’s finals.
JRU needs to use their home court advantage to the fullest since it has a brand-new roster following the exit of starters likes Teytey Teodoro, John Grospe and Jio Lasquety.
Also seeing action in the first stop of NCAA on Tour are their junior counterparts who will clash at 2 p.m.
