4 p.m. – Perpetual vs EAC (Srs)
The Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Generals hope their home fans will be their “sixth man” as they face University of Perpetual Help Altas today in the NCAA men’s basketball at the EAC gym in Manila.
Game is at 4 p.m. with the Generals aiming to barge into the win column after losing to the Lyceum Pirates (106-97) and Arellano Chiefs (75-69).
This will be the third stop of the league’s “NCAA on Tour” program and EAC is determined to take full advantage of their crowd support.
Cameroonian Hamadou Laminou, who was sidelined last season due to an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury, will power the Generals on both offensive and defensive departments after scoring 48 points and grabbing 28 rebounds in their last two games.
But Laminou needs more reinforcement from his teammates particularly on Jerome Garcia, Jethro Mendoza and Jess Bautista to outplay a dangerous team like Perpetual.
Toting a 1-1 card, Perpetual is expected to follow up its 78-75 win over Letran last week to inch closer to unbeaten teams Lyceum (4-0) and San Beda (2-0).
Perpetual mentor Frankie Lim hopes to draw another stellar game from rookie-transferee Edgar Charcos after averaging 20.5 points in the team’s first two games highlighted by a career-high 27-point production against the Knights.
“He’s a big reason why we’re playing like this. I’m confident that he could sustain it,” Lim said.
Out to provide help are Jelo Razon, Jeff Coronel and Prince Eze.
