Games Today
(Ynares Center, Antipolo)
7 p.m. – Gen San vs Makati
9 p.m. – Rizal vs Mandaluyong
Fancied Mandaluyong aims to sustain its winning form tonight when the visiting El Tigre take on the host Rizal Crusaders in the resumption of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Anta Datu Cup action at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo City.
The El Tigre, considered by many as one of the title favorites, will come into the 9 p.m. encounter determined to stretch their winning streak to four games and claim a share of the lead with the Bataan Risers (4-1) behind pacesetting San Juan Knights (4-0) in the North Division.
However, the El Tigre could be in for a tough grind against a Crusaders side riding the crest of a morale-boosting 80-79 squeaker over the Laguna Heroes last July 19 that put an end to their winless start after four matches.
Meanwhile, the Makati Skyscrapers look to sustain their resurgence as they take on the unpredictable General Santos City Warriors in the 7 p.m. opener.
The Skyscrapers (3-1) are coming off a hard-earned 79-77 victory over the Davao Occidental Tigers last July 19 while the Warriors (1-3) are looking to stop a two-game bleeding, their last loss inflicted by the Bataan Risers, 62-58, last July 18.
Reigning two-time ABL Local MVP winner Ray Parks is expected to come up with another all-around performance, with fellow El Tigre Prince Rivero, Jeoff Javillonar, Gian Abrigo and Janus Lozada tipped to provide ample contributions.
