IMUS, Cavite – A suspected drug pusher was killed after resisting arrest while 30 others, including a barangay tanod, were nabbed in anti-drug operations on Wednesday in the province’s seven districts.
The Cavite Provincial Police Office (PPO) identified the fatality as Roberto Tamayo Advincula, alias “Jojo,” 48, a construction worker and resident of Prinza, Barangay Buhay na Tubig, Imus District while the arrested tanod was identified as Romeo Fortuno Fortes, 46, of Barangay Anuling Lejos II, Mendez-Nuñez.
Police conducted operations in Rosario and Cavite City (1st District), 2nd District (Bacoor), 4th District (Dasmariñas), General Mariano Alvarez and Silang (5th District), Cities of General Trias and Trece Martires (6th District), Naic, Indang, Alfonso, Mendez-Nuñez and Maragondon (7th District).
The Imus police reported that Advincula died in a shootout after he fought a police poseur in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Buhay na Tubig at 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Advincula, who sustained a bullet wound in the body, was declared dead on arrival at Medical Center-Imus (MCI) where he was brought after the encounter.
Recovered from Advincula were a 38 cal. pistol and a magazine loaded with five bullets, one plastic sachet containing “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), the P500 marked buy-bust money and at the scene the shell of a bullet that he fired..
Advincula’s body was later brought to Starlight Funeral Homes and Services in Dasmariñas for autopsy. (Anthony Giron)
