TAGBILARAN CITY – The National Food Authority (NFA) manager here said on Friday the supply coming from the agency hardly dented the price of rice in the province.
Maria Fe Evasco said the supply of rice that arrived in the province still not enough to influence the local prices of rice. She said only 40,000 bags arrived here in Bohol. The good news she said the people here have options to buy cheaper rice.
Evasco said the stocks of rice arrived here are new and bereft of any signs of infestation. She even showed the samples to members of the media to prove the rice supply being sold by the NFA is “pest-free.”
Evasco said the rice supply in Bohol and in the Central Visayas region is contained within the region. She said there is no need to be alarmed.
This came about some supply has been diverted to other places in the country, which has been facing rice shortage. (Dave Albarado)
