A QUEZON City police officer was arrested Tuesday night allegedly after he refused to pay for his bill in a restaurant in Barangay Parang, Marikina City.
Police identified the suspect as PO3 Christopher Callejo, 48, assigned to the District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) of Quezon City Police.
Probers said the suspect refused to pay his order of six bottles of beer and tofu amounting to R305.
Complainant Bellani Rivera, 36, owner of Gallery 8 Cuisine, sought assistance from the police when the suspect arrogantly reacted after she asked the suspect for his payment.
Police report showed that instead of paying for his bill, he pulled out his police rig belt with service firearm placed on it.
He allegedly threw it to Rivera, prompting the restaurant owner and other customers to scamper out of the area.
Rivera sought assistance from the Police Community Precinct 5 (PCP-5) of Marikina City.
The suspect boarded his motorcycle in an attempt to escape, but arresting officers PO1 David Dick Rapsing and PO1 Bryan Argel managed to corner him.
Police recovered from the suspect a Glock 17 firearm with one magazine loaded with 13 live ammunition. (Hanah Tabios)
