MORE than 200 grams of “shabu” with an estimated street value of Php1.5 million were seized from a tricycle driver during a buy-bust operation in Sta. Mesa, Manila, Monday.
Sta. Mesa police nabbed Saigair “Sigair” Mamarinta, 20, a resident of Quiapo, Manila, after completing a drug deal with the poseur-buyer at the corner of Pureza Street and Roxas Boulevard around 6 p.m.
Eleven sachets of shabu weighing 230 grams, buy-bust money, one red body bag, and one student permit were recovered from the suspect.
The illegal drugs were submitted to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory for forensic examination.
Based on initial information gathered by the police, Mamarinta sourced shabu in Calamba.
