ANTI-narcotics operatives seized more than Php770,000 worth of shabu and ecstacy from 15 alleged drug suspects when they swooped down on two drug dens in Cubao, Quezon City, Tuesday night.
Joint operatives of Quezon City Police Station 7 Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency seized Php754,000 worth of shabu, and tablets of ecstacy amounting to Php18,200 in two houses in Barangay San Martin De Porres, Cubao.
Prior to the raid, QCPD director Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr. said they received a report from a confidential informant regarding the houses at No. 15 Griego alley and at No. 37 Siloe alley being used as a “one-stop-shop” for illegal drug activities.
After receiving the information, personnel of Cubao Police Station under Superintendent Hycent Caliao conducted surveillance and test-buy operations which confirmed that the houses were being used as drug dens.
Authorities immediately applied for search warrants which were granted by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branches 88 and 227.
At about 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, combined operatives of QCPD and PDEA simultaneously implemented the search warrants that led to the arrest of Mark Anthony Bigayan, 36; his live-in partner Caroline Peralta, 34; Michael Porio, 31; Anne Clemente, 37; Nadrew Espeña, 37; Lorenzo Bigayan, 51; Norberto Porio, 59; Marilyn David, 40; Girlie Bigayan, 38; and Wilma Andaya, 42; inside the house on Griego alley.
Meanwhile, arrested in the drug den on Siloe Alley were Arlene Aguilar, 40; Francisco Aguilar, 37; Parolito Malabanan, 37; Arjay Santos, 30; and Julie Joy Gogulin, 22.
Police were able to confiscate a total of 262 sachets of shabu, several tablets of ecstasy, cannabis oil worth R1,000, several drug paraphernalia, three digital weighing scales, and four mobile phones.
Arrested drug personalities are now under police custody and were all charged with violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
