TWO low-pressure areas are being monitored by the State weather bureau within the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
One of which will bring rains enhanced by the southwest monsoon or “habagat” over Luzon and Visayas.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said one of the LPA was spotted 620 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes.
However, PAGASA weather specialist Menro Mendoza said that this weather disturbance will not have a direct effect on the country and is expected to exit PAR within the next 24 hours.
PAGASA located the second LPA 95 kilometers west-northwest of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
Mendoza said the second LPA and the southwest monsoon will bring rains over the western section of Luzon and some parts of Visayas.
Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas. (Alexandria Dennise San Juan)
