CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite – A total of 52 resisting drug suspects have died while 3,171 others were arrested in police operations in Cavite province from January 1 to September 6 this year.
A total of 4,461 grams of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride ) and 9,829 grams of marijuana, worth millions of pesos, were also seized by the police in the 1,902 operations conducted during the period in the province’s seven districts.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office-Drug Enforcement and Monitoring Center reported that the 52 killed were suspected drug pushers and users who fought with their guns arresting officers in buy-bust and search operations in the areas.
The shootouts involving the suspects and the police, the arrests on 3,171 others and the drugs seized in the operations have reports and witnesses that attested to the police actions.
Senior Superintendent William M. Segun, Cavite PPO director, rendered out the latest update report upon request of the media that have been monitoring and reporting the anti-drugs drives in the province.
Segun said that the drive against illegal drugs would be enforced without letup in the seven cities and 16 municipalities of the province.
The PPO commander and his staff officers have been monitoring daily the performance and accomplishments of each police chief and their operating units. The reports of chiefs of police are being transmitted daily to PPO Operations Branch and the Viber group.
The PPO’s top concerns are illegal drugs, loose firearms and criminals as can gleaned from the number of reports of operations, the arrests and seizures it made now and then.
