DAVAO CITY – A scavenger found a bag of human body parts at New Carmen, Tugbok landfill Saturday, according to Davao City Police Office (DCPO).
The DCPO said the incident was reported by the management of the city’s landfill in Purok 2, New Carmen, around 12:30 p.m.
Around 12 noon, scavenger Jerry Musa, 43, married, and a resident of Purok 2, said he was segregating garbage in the area when he opened a plastic bag.
Suddenly, a right leg fell off the plastic bag.
He checked the bag and saw other body parts — two arms, the left leg, and a human head with long hair.
It could not be determined whether the body was of a male or female as it was already starting to decompose.
Personnel from the Intelligence and Investigation Unit are conducting a follow up investigation to identify the victim.
The discovery of the body parts was the third in recent weeks after a woman’s body parts were found in different locations around Davao City.
The woman has not been identified, even after a family mistakenly claimed the initial body parts found in two separate plastic bags.
