International drug cartels have taken advantage of the “container circuit” in the Philippines to smuggle illegal drugs into the country, President Duterte bared last Saturday.
The President, who has launched a relentless war on illegal drugs, said he was facing a “vicious drug front” with the reported involvement of Bamboo triad and the Sinaloa drug syndicate.
“Kalaki kaya ng prolema ko. I am facing the vicious drug front. It’s being controlled now by the Bamboo triad. Ang ating container circuit is being used by the Sinaloa to place sa itong cocaine,” Duterte said after arriving from his weeklong visit to Israel and Jordan.
“Umiikot kasi ‘yang container maski saan. This time container for Germany. Tapos from Germany, kung sino-sino ‘yung tina-target nila because they have the timetable. ‘Yan ang ginagamit ng Sinaloa,” he added.
The President said if he only had modern weapons like what the United States has, he could put an end to the illegal operations of the drug syndicates.
“Wala lang kasi akong armas kagaya sa kanila. Kaya kung may armas lang ako ngayon ‘yung precision-guided, matagal nang naubos ito,” he said.
