A WAITRESS was stabbed to death by a drunk butcher inside a karaoke bar in Tondo, Manila, after she refused to go out with him Tuesday night. The suspect also attacked the bar’s lady cashier who tried to pacify him.
Police said Aniceta Sialongo, 41, a waitress at Marina Videoke Bar and resident of Tanigue Street, Dagat-dagatan, Caloocan City, was declared dead on arrival at Mary Johnston Hospital in Tondo.
The bar’s cashier, Cecilia Tamayo, 56, sustained two stab wounds and is now recuperating in the same hospital.
Case investigator PO3 Joel Jasareno said the suspect identified as Robert Nocos, 21, a native of Bagong Silang, Davao City, Davao City, was arrested shortly after the incident.
Investigation showed that prior to the incident, Sialongo and Nocos had a drinking session on the second floor of the videoke bar on Juan Luna Street corner Raja Matanda St., in Tondo, around 9 p.m., Tuesday.
During their conversation, the suspect made an indecent proposal to Sialongo. The victim refused to go out with the suspect and went to the ground floor of the bar, police said.
The suspect got angry and left the bar.
Employees of the bar told police that they later saw suspect walking in front of the establishment armed with a knife. He entered the bar again at 9:15 p.m. and stabbed Sialongo in the different parts of the body.
Tamayo tried to stop Nocos from stabbing Sialongo but the suspect stabbed her also twice.
Based on the clip of a nearby closed-circuit television, the suspect hurriedly left the place bringing with him the weapon used.
Few minutes later, police apprehended the suspect on Zaragoza Street in Tondo, Manila. Upon his arrest, he denied committing the crime, claiming that he was just sleeping in his home.
Jasareno said the suspect sloppily shaved his head so the police would not be able to identify him.
In an interview, the suspect claimed he was forced to admit the crime because he was beaten up by the police.
