The Cebu City Sharks ended a four-game losing spell while the Zamboanga Valientes rose from a recent loss on Saturday’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup at the University of San Jose Recoletos gym in Cebu City.
The Sharks outplayed the Makati Skyscrapers, 70-66, while the Valientes thrashed the Basilan Steel, 94-80.
Patrick Jan Cabahug finished with 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists even as William Bill McAloney had 13 points and 10 boards for the Shark, who clinched their second win against eight losses.
Reed Juntilla, meanwhile, bannered the Valientes with 26 points and seven boards en route to their fifth win in 10 games.
The Skyscrapers and the Steel slipped to 6-4 and 4-7 marks.
