A 64-year-old motorcycle rider died after he crashed into a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Ermita, Manila, early Saturday morning.
Police identified the victim as Epifanio Reloza Cremat, a resident of Bacoor, Cavite. He was rushed to Philippine General Hospital but died while undergoing treatment.
Investigation showed the victim was driving his Euro motorcycle along Remedios Street when he collided with a Toyota Innova driven one Fernando Gascon Fernandez, 56, along southbound lane of M.H. del Pilar Street at 4:15 a.m. in Ermita, Manila.
Probers said the victim was thrown off his motorcycle and landed on the concrete ground head first. His motorcycle was also heavily damaged.
PO1 Lester Montero of Remedios Police Community Precinct arrested Fernandez. The driver will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
